Hebe ‘Joyful’

Hebe ‘Joyful’ photographed at a Hebe Society member’s garden, Cheshire, UK

Hebe ‘Joyful’ forms an open, upright evergreen bush, about 40 in (1 m) or more high. The leaves are purple/green, spear shaped, about 2 in (5 cm) long. The flowers are purple, summer. A hebe hardy in the UK.

A new hebe seedling found by Mrs Joy Pidsley, at Pershore College. Bob Hares then grew it on in the Specialist Plant Unit. The plant was then passed on to Lowaters Nursery in Hampshire, a very large commercial nursery specialising in the production of hebes.
